Purpose and Introduction
USSOCOM is committed to streamlining the process for acquiring Dell computers and peripherals while maintaining strict accountability for funding, contracting, and approval. Key to this streamlining effort is the use of the SOCOM web-Catalog Tool which provides a structured, simple to navigate process for identifying, selecting, and ordering Dell products.
The tool uses best practices for developing and pricing quotes from the MCP provided catalogue. Use of this tool will provide accelerated acquisition of products through the approved contract vehicle. It also clearly identifies assets in a clear, concise, and consistent manner and aligns with the SOCOM information technology needs and mission requirements.
Awareness
This training session will describe the use of the web-CATALOG tool and the process for identifying, selecting, pricing, and submitting an IT request for Dell equipment.
Roles and Responsibilities
During the training we highlight the roles and responsibilities and describe:
- What the user can do
- What they can’t do
- When they can do it
- What level of authority and approval is required for submission of a requirement.
